National Highways have contacted Richard regarding the final phase of work to replace A421 noise barriers. Work will begin on 28 April 2025 and will continue until October 2025 over weeknights between 8pm and 6am, weather permitting.
To carry out the work safely, they will need to close the A421 and Bedford Road in two phases with traffic diverted as detailed below:
- Monday 28th April to Saturday 5th July 2025 - closures on Bedford Road with traffic being diverted onto the A421 eastbound to Marsh Leys Interchange. During this phase there will be a closure of lane 1 on the A421 westbound carriageway.
- Monday 7th July to Saturday 11th October 2025 – closures on A421 westbound from Marsh Leys Interchange to Marston Moretaine with traffic being diverted onto Woburn Road and continue onto Bedford Road.
