In mid-November, Richard had an online meeting with Chief Superintendent Jon Roche of Hertfordshire Police who is the lead officer on firearms licensing for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire.
Richard Fuller MP said:
At the time of our meeting Chief Supt Roche had only been in the role for 6 weeks so it was too early for a definitive assessment, however I was encouraged by the measures that had been introduced and the approach that was being taken. Best practices from other, more efficient forces had been identified and were being implemented as well as the deployment of more personnel to the process to increase the throughput of applications and renewals.
Next week I will meeting Chief Supt Roche in person to get a further update on progress and will provide feedback following that meeting. In the meantime, I am interested to hear any comments about whether you have seen any improvements in the past few months and if there are any specific points you would like me to raise. Please email me with your comments at [email protected]
