Upcoming A421 Eastbound Closures

A421 Eastbound diversion February 2026

National Highways are installing new street lighting, permanent signage, and CCTV on the A421 eastbound. 

This work will require the closure of the A421 eastbound between Renhold Interchange and Black Cat junction overnight (8pm-5am) from Monday 2nd to Saturday 7th February 2026.

If travelling during the affected times, please use the planned diversion (diversion map below and here)

  • exit A421 at Cardington Interchange
  • follow A603 towards Sandy
  • join A1 northbound at Sandy towards Black Cat junction
