Saturday 3 July and Sunday 4 July celebrates Independents' Day weekend, the perfect opportunity for us all to show our support for the great independent shops in our area.
Richard Fuller, member of the Business Select Committee and MP for North East Bedfordshire, said:
Many of our local independent shops have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic so please, and not just this weekend, stay local, pledge a few pounds & support small shops.
The campaign is supported by a number of trade organisations, including the Independent Retailers' Confederation; bira, the British Independent Retailers' Association; the Federation of Independent Retailers and the Association of Town & City Management. This year, the campaign is being run in association with Local Rewards, a high street guides service that allows shop owners to communicate with and reward shoppers locally.
