The government’s Start Up Loans scheme has achieved another landmark milestone as the 100,000th business loan was granted earlier this month, bringing the total support given to firms to more than £941 million. In North East Bedfordshire, the Start Up Loans programme has supported 145 businesses, with £1,491,898 of funding.
The scheme, administered by the British Business Bank, offers financial support, guidance, and advice to entrepreneurs looking to start their own business.
The primary aim of the Start Up Loans programme is to ensure that viable start-ups and early-stage businesses have access to the finance and support they need in order to thrive.
Richard Fuller MP said:
Encouraging entrepreneurship and new businesses to thrive is critical to growing the economy and raising living standards and I welcome the announcement that 145 loans worth £1,491,898 have been delivered to help businesses in my constituency.
