Last Saturday Richard was delighted to attend the grand opening of the St Mary’s Church Room extension in Stevington. He was joined by local Councillor Dylan Simmons.

This project has so much history behind it and the Friends of St Mary's group have done a great fundraising job over many years.
I was impressed to see such a huge outpouring of public support for the Church Room and for the volunteers who have worked tirelessly to deliver the much-needed extension. The work has provided additional amenity space and turned the outside toilet into a lovely indoor set of conveniences.
My thanks go to Tricia Lennie, the current Chair of Friends of St Mary's, as well as the whole of Stevington who have come together as a community to deliver this fantastic improvement. Having previously hosted my surgeries at this building I look forward to taking full advantage of the upgrades when I next come to the village.
