The responses from the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (MVCC) public consultation conducted earlier this year are currently being analysed but the NHS is aware that travel and access were the most frequently raised issues.
As a result, further work is being undertaken to explore these challenges in more depth and to identify what could be done to improve access to specialist cancer treatment, both now and in the future.
NHS East of England has commissioned Opinion Research Services (ORS), an independent social research organisation, to carry out a survey to better understand how cancer patients access Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. The work focuses on:
- How patients currently travel to the centre
- The behaviours and circumstances that shape travel and access choices
- Barriers that may affect patients’ ability to use MVCC services
- What would make access easier, now and in the future.
The NHS is keen to hear from patients who have used services at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre and those who were offered services at the cancer centre but chose not to attend or were unable to do so.
Please share your views through this survey https://www.opinionresearch.co.uk/MVCC before 17 May.
