This week, Richard welcomed to Parliament a number of students from North East Bedfordshire who were taking part in two days of work experience.

I was pleased to welcome a group of students from the constituency to Parliament this week who came to undertake two days of work experience.
Unfortunately, due to rail cancellations as a result of the heatwave, we had to make the second day online but a lot was packed into the first day – a tour of the Houses of Parliament; a talk from Minister Amanda Solloway MP who spoke about her journey into politics and her roles as a Minister and former Whip; a discussion and Q&A with me; a chance to listen to Defence Oral Questions in the Chamber and the opening speeches of the Confidence Motion, as well as a talk from a House of Commons Library specialist on writing briefings.
The students also produced some first class research briefings on topical issues that have been coming across my constituency desk and they were engaging throughout, despite the weather. Thank you to everyone who took part and good luck with your future careers!
