From the 2nd of June there will be additional bus services for the villages of Bromham, Stagsden, and Turvey. These buses will not go onward to Northampton but will form a shorter loop route between Bedford and Turvey.
Richard Fuller MP said:
This is excellent news for residents in these villages. The issue of infrequent bus services in Bromham was first brought to my attention by constituents in surgery and I am grateful to Councillor Jim Weir and Councillor Dylan Simmons for all their efforts to work with Stagecoach to find a solution. This will be greatly appreciated by many who rely on public transport. Thanks and congratulations to everyone involved in making this happen.
The additional services mean that from Monday to Friday there will be an additional three services going into Bedford every day, which will leave Turvey Laws Hotel at 9.55am, 11.55am, and 2pm. There will also be an additional three services coming out of Bedford Bus Station at 9.10am, 11.10am, and 1.10pm. These changes will provide on average, one bus per hour in each direction between the hours of 8am and 2pm with services continuing to leave Bedford until 6.10pm and continuing to go into Bedford until 8.30pm.
On Saturdays Stagecoach shall be providing an additional 5 buses a day in each direction. Giving on average one bus per hour in each direction between 7.30am and 6.30pm with an additional 8.30pm service.
