Richard recently visited Holme Crescent in Biggleswade to meet with local residents and Phil Hardy, the Chief Operations Officer at management company, Amplius. The visit focused on concerns around parking arrangements and the suitability of current provisions for the community.
Many residents raised issues around accessibility, particularly for those with mobility challenges who find it difficult to walk to the nearby car park.
Richard Fuller MP said:
Several residents have mobility issues and cannot walk to the nearby car park. Therefore, finding a parking solution closer to their homes is vital - not just for convenience, but for their independence.
I am pleased that Amplius will be working with Central Bedfordshire Council to explore options. While any solution will require planning permission, there is potential for disability grant funding to help cover costs, which is an encouraging step forward.
Amplius confirmed that they will collaborate with Central Bedfordshire Council to identify practical solutions. Any proposed changes will require planning approval, but the availability of disability grant funding offers hope for a positive outcome.
