The first Saturday of December each year is designated Small Business Saturday. This year, Richard visited Ralph Hosier Engineering in Little Staughton.
After the visit, Richard Fuller MP said:
Ralph Hosier Engineering in Bedfordshire is pushing the boundaries of vehicle engineering as well as training technical and non-technical people in practical maintenance and repair skills. From classic cars to electric buses they support a wide community who are passionate about sustainability and the huge value of our mobile heritage and the importance of transport for all.
It was great to meet with Ralph and witness his infectious passion for the industry but also his commitment to passing his skills on to the next generation. Already providing 15 highly skilled local jobs, we discussed how local and national government could help the business grow and fulfil Ralph's ambitious vision for his business.
Small and medium businesses make up 99.9 per cent of the 5.6 million businesses in the UK – they employ almost 17 million people and contribute £2.4 trillion to the economy. Small Business Saturday showcases small businesses right across the country – many of which support local highstreets and provide local jobs.
