Richard recently visited Keech Hospice who provide end-of-life hospice care for adults across Bedfordshire and children and their families across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, and Milton Keynes with life-limiting conditions
Speaking after his visit, Richard Fuller MP said:
Keech Hospice has been part of the palliative care network of Bedfordshire for many years, and they do an outstanding job with superb staff and rooms and facilities of a very high standard.
I took particular pleasure in a chance meeting with some of the cleaning staff to thank them for the exceptional work they do.
The truth is though, that this government’s Jobs Tax has created huge problems for our hospices (and our residential care homes), and many are finding it tough to cope.
For Keech Hospice, the changes at Rachel Reeves’ first Budget blew a £300,000 hole in their finances - that’s a lot of additional fundraising they are having to do just to keep up.
