Richard recently isited Brewpoint- the locally owned brewery, pub and restaurant at the Clapham roundabout.

Brewpoint was an important stop on my investigation of the state of local hospitality businesses. We discussed the role hospitality plays in giving young people their first job and the social value of our pubs.
We had a fruitful discussion and emphasised the role hospitality plays in getting young people used to the working environment and the social value of our pubs. I also demonstrated that my pint-pulling skills show little signs of improvement: "maybe with a flake" sums my efforts up perfectly....
There is no hiding from the fact that Rachel Reeves’ first budget caused enormous harm to our pubs and restaurants (as well as to our care homes and hospices), but the spirit of enterprise is strong at Brewpoint and they are looking forward to barrelling through the challenges to tap new opportunities. Now that would be worth raising a pint to!
