Richard recently visited Bidfood Food Wholesale Suppliers in Biggleswade, one of the company's 24 depots across the country. Bidfood supply food to both the private and public sector and have a number of government contracts to provide food to, among others, NHS facilities.
Richard Fuller MP commented:
I was pleased to hear that the company is doing well despite challenges in recent years including how their warehouse will soon be subject to uprated business rates and that they will have to pass on almost all additional costs to their customers as they operate under very tight profit margins; the government's National Insurance hike and the difficulties that the hospitality sector has faced in recent years, which has impacted business as Bidfood have many customers in this sector.
All in all however, Bidfood have addressed and adapted to these challenges and have managed to maintain a strong business and continue to be an important local employer.
