The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC)  is planning an application to the third round of Safer Streets Fund. The focus of this round of the Fund is on public spaces and primarily, but not exclusively, focused on public areas of concern for women and girls.

The main requirement will be to show the identification of public spaces where women and girls feel unsafe or disproportionally experience Violence (VAWG related crimes).

As a result, they are consulting with local VAWG stakeholder groups and local organisations that hold responsibility for groups of women and girls, such as schools, universities, or local businesses. The OPCC is also launching two surveys and encouraging children, young people and families to take part in these. The information from these surveys will help identify local areas to target, support engagement and to corroborate existing local data that is held.

Richard Fuller, Member of Parliament for North East Bedfordshire, said:

I urge residents to have their say and take part in the surveys to support the funding bid and help Bedfordshire Police identify areas for to target engagement and support.

The two surveys are aimed firstly at children and young people up to the age of 19: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/NBHFHF2

For Ages 20+: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/N5KS9MS
