Richard Fuller MP looking at East Park Energy proposed location

As the Planning Inspectorate's Development Consent Order (DCO) examination into the proposed East Park Energy solar plant reaches its final deadline, Richard Fuller MP has submitted his closing formal representation opposing the scheme.

Throughout the examination process, Richard has engaged with the developer, listened to the concerns of local residents and local campaign group Stop East Park Energy, attended public hearings, and submitted evidence about the impacts of the 1,900-acre proposal.

Commenting on his final submission, Richard said:

"As the elected representative for the area most impacted by this proposal, I have met with the applicant, engaged with local residents, attended oral hearings, and provided both written and oral evidence throughout the examination process.

"My office and I have reviewed submissions from the applicant, and I hope I can make a fair and informed assessment; my overall sense at this stage is that the applicant has not provided sufficient reassurance about the impact of the construction, the operation, and the ultimate decommissioning of this vast industrial energy plant to warrant the scheme being approved."
