Last week, Richard met again with the head of Firearms Licensing for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. The signs are that the new processes and increased personnel are helping to reduce the backlog and speed up the process for new applications and renewals. Richard recorded this video giving an update on progress.

Commenting after the meeting, Richard Fuller MP said:

I appreciate that many constituents have been waiting an unacceptably long time and still don't have their licenses. Regrettably with the size of backlog that had built up, it was always going to be a long and tortuous process to get on track.

I am confident however that going forward we will see the backlog start to ease and future applications and renewals should be expedited far more quickly than previously.
