Richard with Road minister Guy Opperman MP

Before the House of commons rose for the Christmas break, Richard met with the new Roads Minister to discuss the road network in Bedfordshire.

Speaking afterwards, Richard Fuller MP said:

It was right down to business with the new roads minister, Guy Opperman MP, and he was right on top of his brief.

We had a very positive discussion about the construction that has just begun at Black Cat roundabout and I raised again the importance of taking the next step for improvements to the other roundabouts on the A1 at Sandy and Biggleswade.

I also raised concerns about the pressures on the A421 from new housing and he has agreed to meet early in the New Year with the Mayor of Bedford Borough to see for himself the challenges Bedford Borough Council is facing.
