Earlier this summer, Richard met with Sarah Neighbour, the Bedfordshire Community Engagement Manager for the charity Small Acts of Kindness.

This charity works across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire and every year produces a 'Warm in Winter' bag for anyone over the age of 55 who may need a little help keeping warm over the winter. The bags contain thermal hats, gloves and blankets, a mug together with tea, coffee, soup and porridge and a 'Purple Pages' information pack full of important leaflets and contact information for support organisations that could be useful for recipients. Last year Small Acts of Kindness gave out 1,000 bags in Bedfordshire and that will increase to 2,000 this winter.
If you would like to help Small Acts of Kindness with the tremendous work they do then please contact them on 01923 372717 or visit their website at https://www.smallactsofkindness.co.uk/. You could volunteer to help pack the 'Warm in Winter' bags for a couple of hours at Houghton Regis hall at the end of September, or perhaps you could spare a few hours to help distribute the bags during October and beyond.
