Richard recently joined his neighbouring MP from St Neots for an update meeting with Minister Matthew Pennycook on Tempsford and the wider New Towns programme.
Following the meeting, Richard Fuller MP said;
The Minister couldn’t share much while the evaluation is still underway, but he did outline the broad timetable for when decisions are expected and it was a good chance for us to pass on what we heard from the recent meeting with affected Parish and Local Authority Councillors.
We highlighted three key points:
- 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 — communities must be involved in shaping any new town
- 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐧
- 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 & 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 — these must remain at the heart of any proposals
More updates will follow as soon as the Government's process continues.
