This week Richard met with the Highways England regional team to discuss road projects in the constituency.
Speaking after the meeting, Richard Fuller MP said:
On Wednesday, I had my regular meeting with Highways England to discuss progress with road projects - actual and potential - affecting Bedfordshire.
Top of the list was Black Cat roundabout which continues to progress. This project, along with the A428 to Cambridge upgrade are welcome. However, when it comes to A1 improvements, it begins to sound like “Groundhog Day” where conversations repeat and repeat but no progress is made. To be fair to Highways England, they work within the rules set by the national government and these rules say “build more houses and you will get improvements". That’s not the right bargain for our area which already is doing more than its fair share of new housing builds.
