Richard recently arranged a visit to Anglian Water’s Pumping Station in Milton Ernest with Parish Councillors Alistair Ross, Rachel Atkinson and Pam Lane.
Richard Fuller MP said:
During the visit we discussed water quality and storm overflows into the River Great Ouse and I was reassured that Anglian Water are taking steps to address this matter. This includes a multi-billion pound investment programme and additional cleaning programmes such as the introduction of new chemical processes at the Odell Water Recycling Centre, which I have previously visited, to remove some of the most toxic pollutants in the water when they are forced to eject into the river.
Following this meeting, I joined the Parish Councillors at the site of a development under their village Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) and we discussed the particular concerns raised by developers, seemingly removing amenity land that was there in the NDP from their outline planning permission. I am now arranging a meeting between the Parish Council and the developers.
I have also agreed to attend a meeting of the Milton Ernest Parish Council to discuss the broader policy concerns brought about by the Government’s new National Planning Policy Framework and how it may impact villages in my constituency like Milton Ernest.
