Over the Easter break from Parliament, Richard returned to the police station at Riseley for a visit and also joined the Rural Crime Action Team (RCAT) on a ride along.
Speaking afterwards, Richard Fuller MP said:
Our rural officers are wonderful examples of policing, building strong connections and adept at combatting crime. The number of frontline officers stationed at Riseley had fallen for many years but over the last five years numbers have been built back up to a total contingent of 11.
During the ride along, I got to see a range of policing activities, talked about the pressures facing our officers and even got to recover a stolen motorcycle!
I can be critical of back office processes at our police but our frontline officers have my full support and grateful thanks.
