On Tuesday, Richard Fuller MP joined farmers from North Bedfordshire who were in Westminster for the rally calling on the government to overturn the family farm tax.

Richard Fuller MP said:

Despite the miserable weather it was great to see such a strong turnout from the farming community in Parliament this week, and particularly good to catch-up with a strong contingent from North Bedfordshire.

I hope the penny is starting to drop with the government that the anger caused by their hopelessly misguided and ill-thought-through assault on farmers will not dissipate any time soon. They would also do well to recognise that the public generally appreciate that we rely on farmers for our food security and the stewardship of our countryside and will not fall for Labour's class tropes about 'millionaire' farmers.

Labour’s assault on Britain’s family farms undermines our food security and threatens further increases in the cost of the weekly food shop.

Across Bedfordshire, family farms have grown food for our shelves - passing on their skills and passion from generation to generation. The Labour budget directly and deliberately targets this and will see less food being grown here with family farms being swallowed up by larger businesses, or worse still, sold off to developers.

Rachel Reeves hopes you won’t notice or won’t care. Show her that you do care about British food and the rise in food prices by signing the petition.
