Earlier this month, Richard hosted Police and Crime Commissioner, Festus Akinbusoye's Bedfordshire Schools Debating Competition Final in the Grand Committee Room in Parliament.

I was delighted to host the final debate in the Grand Committee Room in Parliament. Many congratulations to the winners, Bedford Modern School and joint runners up Sandy Secondary School and Stockwood Park Academy.
The standard of debate was very high and all debaters made very convincing arguments. Many congratulations to all the students who took part.
Festus launched the annual competition in 2021 to give Bedfordshire young people invaluable life skills and confidence, testing their public speaking and analytical skills as well as their ability to make an argument.
