Last week, on Andy Collins' BBC 3CR Breakfast Show, Richard discussed the latest situation on whether the Government will reimburse Bedford Borough Council for the £2 million spent in the aftermath of the Cleat Hill gas explosion in October 2024. The explosion happened several weeks after contractors struck a pocket of natural gas while drilling for a ground source heat pump.
Richard Fuller MP said:
I explained that following a reshuffle in the Ministerial team, and a positive meeting with Minister, Alison McGovern, I was now more cautiously hopeful that government support could be forthcoming.
I've learnt in politics never to count chickens, so time will tell whether the Minister's sympathetic ear and positive words translate into tangible action.
