Richard calls the King's Speech "underwhelming"

Following the King's Speech on Wednesday, Richard recorded this video message https://youtube.com/shorts/X1PvR3P9IPA

Summarising his views, Richard said:

The King's Speech lacks vision, purpose and content. It was underwhelming and the main question is whether Keir Starmer will even be around to implement it.

Britain is facing new structural problems. Instead of facing up to them, the Government is reheating old policy. Labour made promises in opposition without a plan and we are seeing the disastrous effects of this: there is no plan to make savings from welfare; there is no defence readiness plan to boost defence spending; and there is no plan to deregulate, just an absurd plan to 'Regulation for Growth'.

They do have an 'emergency energy plan' which bans oil and gas during an energy crisis and a shameful plan to hound veterans.

We will not make the same mistake as Labour in opposition. That is why we have published an alternative King’s Speech which is the culmination of eighteen months of detailed, hard work done by a renewed Conservative Party. We have thought hard about what the country needs and with this document we are showing we have a plan to deliver it. Our plan will deliver a Stronger Economy and Stronger Country.
