On Sunday, Richard attended the Remembrance parade and service in Sandy. The parade mustered at Swan Lane and was led by Sam Wenn and her dog, Billy, who represented the animals who served beside the soldiers during the war. The Act of Remembrance was observed at the War Memorial on Bedford Road and was followed by the laying of wreaths. Hundreds of people lined the streets as the parade proceeded along Bedford Road and moved into St Swithun’s Church for the Service of Remembrance, led by Rev Jodie Brown.
Richard Fuller MP said:
I was honoured to lay a wreath and represent North Bedfordshire at Sandy Remembrance Sunday this year. I was also pleased to meet Sam and the very well turned out Billy, proudly wearing his wreath.
Thank you to Sandy Town Council, the Royal British Legion Sandy and District Branch and everyone who attended to honour and remember the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.
