The Govia Thameslink (GTR) train service on the Peterborough to Horsham line has seen significant issues over recent years, culminating in the unprecedented levels of disruption during the summer months of 2025.

Since 2020, Richard has held many meetings and shared written communications with members of the GTR management team to push for measures that would improve the service, including:

  • Increased driver numbers
  • Increasing the number of train carriages on individual services
  • More peak time services
  • The minimisation of skip-stopping
  • Improved messaging for rail users.

Whilst some small improvements have been observed at times, the service continues to fall short of expectations and customer needs.

Richard Fuller MP said:

Following my discussions with GTR’s Chief Operations Officer (COO), John Whitehurst, I asked him to come to a public meeting in the constituency to hear and address the concerns of rail users affected by the poor service. This meeting will be on Thursday 5th of March at 7.30pm at The Orchard Centre, Sullivan Court, Kings Reach, Biggleswade, SG18 8SZ. The meeting is expected to run for approximately two hours.

Please share this with anyone who uses this rail service.
