Bedford Borough is one of 20 areas across the country that has seen an outbreak of the so-called Indian Variant with an incidence rate greater than 10.

On Friday, Richard Fuller, MP for North East Bedfordshire, which includes the local authority area of Bedford Borough, said:

This morning I spoke with the Vaccines Minister, Nadhim Zahawi, about measures that the government and local council are planning including the possibility of surge testing and potentially bringing forward second dose vaccinations for those in at-risk categories.

Also bear in mind that you can get free lateral flow tests from most pharmacies and a number of test sites in order to conduct your own home testing.

For full details on where to source lateral flow tests please use this link.
