Last month, Richard met with the Cluck Off Campaign at Knotting and Souldrop Village Hall.
Richard Fuller MP said:
Cluck Off are campaigning against the construction of a new industrial scale chicken farm near Rushden in Northamptonshire. At its peak it would house and slaughter up to 314,000 chickens at a time.
While I do not usually involve myself in planning matters, I agreed to take this meeting because the operational footprint of this proposed site would have a direct impact on many villages in the north of my constituency. There are concerns about HGV transit, odour, manure spreading, and damaging chemical runoff into the River Great Ouse.
Following this meeting I have agreed to raise a series of concerns with the principal planning authority, North Northamptonshire Council. I look forward to meeting with Cluck Off again in the future.
