The Government has approved the expansion of London Luton Airport, a move set to significantly increase passenger capacity and create thousands of new jobs in Bedfordshire. The decision marks a notable step in Bedfordshire's ongoing economic development and has been welcomed by Richard.
The expansion will allow for a near doubling of passenger movements through the airport, reinforcing Luton’s status as a key transport hub in the South East and opening up new opportunities for investment and employment.

The news about economic development in Bedfordshire continues apace with the decision by the Government to approve Luton Airport expansion. This will mean a near doubling of passenger movements in and out of the airport and whilst I welcome the decision, I also appreciate that it will add to road congestion, noise pollution and a more cramped Thameslink railway. A big benefit of the expansion will be the significant additional jobs both during construction and after that will further broaden opportunities for young people looking to develop their skills or careers.
