Richard recently met with local percussionist Catriona Piper in a constituency surgery.

When I met with Catriona and her father, I was inspired by her passion, commitment and enormous skill and I am delighted that her ability has been recognised by The National Youth Orchestra - she begins a 2-week residency with the orchestra this week.
The National Youth Orchestra is an outstanding organisation that delivers top class orchestral performances whilst providing a powerful environment for teenage development. The NYO adventure is about teenagers from across the UK, representing regions and different backgrounds, making music together.
It’s about community spirit, seeing the best in each other and wanting the best for each other. Everyone contributes to a safe, happy and optimistic community.
