Last Friday, Richard organised a meeting for local residents with the Police and Crime Commissioner and the Rural Crime Action Team (RCAT) at Old Warden Village Hall.
Speaking afterwards, Richard Fuller MP said:
There was a lot of interest, lots of questions and lots of concerns raised at my public meeting to discuss rural crime. Sadly the size of attendance was indicative of the level of concern on this issue.
The meeting originated as a response to some rather worrying experiences from families who were victims of crime - sometimes repeatedly - who had felt ignored or isolated when seeking a response from Bedfordshire Police.
I was very grateful to the Police & Crime Commissioner and Chief Inspector for attending and for answering so many questions and providing reassurance.
The meeting raised a number of areas for improvement in the eyes of my constituents but also praise for the individual officers in the rural crime team.
I am very pleased to hear that this team will be moving from their current base in the south of the county in Dunstable to the centre of the county in Flitwick.
If you were unable to attend this meeting but wish to raise a matter about crime with Richard, please email him at [email protected] or check his website for details of upcoming surgeries.
