The UK is awash with untapped export potential – and UK Export Finance (UKEF) can help change that and give companies in North East Bedfordshire the Exporter’s Edge. UKEF is the government’s export credit agency and works closely with the Department for International Trade to support UK businesses looking to export.
Richard Fuller MP said:
One in seven firms with a turnover over £500k is not exporting but could be and companies that begin to export, on average, grow by a third in just two years.
UKEF has a network of Export Finance Managers (EFMs) across the UK, including Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire who represents UKEF in North East Bedfordshire. These locally based specialists provide free, impartial information to exporters, helping them access the right financing from UKEF or the private sector.
UKEF has been backing UK exporters for over 100 years, guiding them through many great changes to the global economy – and doing so at no net cost to the taxpayer. Last year, UKEF provided £7.4 billion in support for UK exporters of all sizes, estimated to support over 72,000 jobs across the UK, with 81% of businesses backed being SMEs.
