Central Bedfordshire Council has launched its consultation on the draft 2023/24 budget. The consultation closes on 24 January and residents are invited to share their views at www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/budget
Commenting, Richard Fuller MP said:
Through implementing efficiencies as well as drawing on reserves, Central Bedfordshire Council has produced a draft budget for 2023/24 which shows no increase in the share of Council Tax that they will take next year.
Despite inflation and a rising demand for services, the fact that Central Beds can avoid raising their share of Council Tax, whilst at the same time maintaining services and investing over £250 million on new facilities like schools, leisure centres and care homes, demonstrates the importance of a well-run, fiscally prudent Council.

Feedback from the consultation will be collated and presented to the February Executive, in advance of decision making on the finalised budget which will be recommended to Full Council.
