The Environment Agency (EA) has introduced a new online reporting service to make it easier for the public to report problems.

Initially it will only be possible to report water and odour pollution incidents online, but the EA will gradually include more incident types in the future as it expands the service.

The online tool can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/report-environmental-problem

This new online service is available 24/7 and provides the public with an accessible way for reporting, in addition to the existing Incident Reporting Service telephone hotline at 0800 807060.

The Environment Agency will assess every report they receive, regardless of how it's submitted, and decide on the best course of action. The information received via the form will follow the same process as information received via the phone.

Anyone using the online service who wishes to have reference number will need to provide an email address, via the online form and it may take up to 5 minutes for the reference number to arrive.
