Community First Reponders

The East of England has more than one thousand Community First Responders (CFR) but have launched an appeal for more volunteers. CFRs are trained to attend certain types of emergency calls in the area where they live or work. Their aim is to reach a potential life threatening emergency in the first vital minutes before the ambulance crew arrives. Their role is to help stabilise the patient and provide the appropriate care until the more highly skilled ambulance crew arrives on scene to take over the treatment.

Richard Fuller MP said:

Community First Responders learn important training on first aid, which could go on to save someone’s life in an emergency.

There are groups near you that you can join so if you are interested in becoming a Community First Responder volunteer. please visit the EEAST website to fill out an application form or to find out more information about the role.

If you are interested in becoming a CFR then please visit eastamb.nhs.uk.
