Last week, Richard Fuller MP welcomed Culture Minister, Nigel Huddlestone, to North East Bedfordshire to visit Moggerhanger Park.
Moggerhanger Park was one of the places in receipt of the government’s Heritage Stimulus Fund last year via the Historic Houses Foundation.
The funding was used to complete crucial ongoing repairs to the exterior of the building including its roof, chimneys and render on its walls.
After the visit, Richard said:
I was pleased to welcome Nigel Huddleston, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport to Moggerhanger Park which received crucial funding last year from the Heritage Stimulus Fund aimed at keeping our significant heritage assets in good condition and sustain the skilled craft workforce that looks after them. Many thanks to General Manager, Sam Harwood-Bowles, who was on hand to explain how the funding is being used to protect this important building.
Moggerhanger Park is a Grade 1 listed Georgian Historic House set in 33 acres of parkland and woodland. It is recognised as the most complete surviving example of Sir John Soane's work set in stylish grounds and woodlands sculpted by Humphry Repton. Today it is run as an events and weddings venue and the parkland is open to the public daily. For more information please visit: https://www.moggerhangerpark.com/
