On Friday 13th December the cordon surrounding Cleat Hill was lifted, the road re-opened and most residents in the area were advised they could return home.

Commenting, Richard Fuller MP said:

From Friday morning, the cordon around Cleat Hill was lifted and most residents have been advised that they can return home.

This change follows a rigorous plan led by our Local Resilience Forum including the provision of a network of methane detection monitors across the area.

Many residents are now back in their homes but the council remains supportive of those who may need more time.

This is good progress in time for Christmas but there is still a lot of work to do.
