The Carlton Village Shop & Post Office and The Fox Inn in Carlton are in contention for East Regional titles in the Village Shop/Post Office and Pub categories of The Countryside Alliance Awards 2023.

Judging will take place via a public vote and voting is now open to choose the winners.

Richard Fuller MP said:

I am delighted that 2 North East Bedfordshire businesses are in contention for East Regional titles; Carlton Village Shop, and The Fox at Carlton in the Village Shop/Post Office and Pub categories respectively.

Should the Carlton Village Shop or The Fox at Carlton win the Village Shop/Post Office or Pub title, they will be invited to the House of Lords for the winners’ reception on 17th May 2023 to celebrate their success and announce the overall national winners of each category.

Please use this link to vote for your favourites and make sure that North East Bedfordshire is represented in the House of Lords in May.

Every year the Countryside Alliance holds a competition to find the best local businesses as voted for by local residents. The awards cover several categories including; Village Shop/Post Office, Local Food & Drink, Rural Enterprise, Pub and Butcher. The awards, otherwise known as “The Rural Oscars,” are the most prestigious rural business awards to win, and give a voice and a platform to the best of our produce, enterprise, heritage and communities.
