Last week, Richard Fuller MP was interviewed on BBC Look East about the current status of the OxCam Arc. The Oxford to Cambridge (OxCam) Arc is the name given to a cross-government initiative to support planning for the future made up of the five counties of Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.
The interview can be watched here.
Richard said:
It is widely known that the originally-proposed expressway linking Oxford and Cambridge has been abandoned, and the 1 million new homes dreamt up by Lord Adonis has thankfully been dropped by this government.
The arguments underpinning the Arc were always deeply flawed, and the excessive house-building proposals would have meant even greater pressure on critical resources such as GP surgeries and local school places.
Richard has previously taken part in a Parliamentary debate about the Ox Cam Arc which can be found here and spoken about it here.
