National Highways have announced that the A1 will be closed in both directions between Tempsford and the Black Cat roundabout from 9pm on Friday September 19th until 5am on Monday September 22nd.
This is to install a new culvert under the A1 carriageway near Kelpie Marine. This culvert will allow water to flow beneath the road and is designed to manage water from streams, drainage channels, or rainfall.
The diversion will be as follows:
A1 northbound: Traffic will be diverted off the A1 at Tempsford and continue north on Barford Road. Traffic will then head west on the A428 via St Neots and rejoin the A1 northbound at Wyboston.
A1 southbound: Traffic will be diverted east along the A428 and then south on Barford Road. You will the rejoin the A1 southbound at Tempsford.
