Thank you for getting in contact with me about the Open Doors World Watch List 2026 Launch. I was pleased to attend their event last week, and you can read more about my attendance here.
I am an avid supporter of Open Doors’ work to support and advocate against the worldwide persecution of Christians and other groups. I have attended the World Watch List launch event most years since my election in 2019, and it has become an important part of the parliamentary calendar.
I am firmly of the view that nobody should live in fear because of their identity or beliefs (FoRB). I am committed to defending FoRB for all, and to promoting respect between different religious and non-religious communities. Indeed, promoting the right to FoRB was one of the UK's longstanding human rights priorities under the last Government and, I hope, will continue to be under this one.
I was very glad to attend the 2026 Launch, and I am extremely grateful for the ongoing work of Open Doors.
